A frequent question we are asked:
You’ve heard the terms ‘English Cream’ or ‘Red’ to describe these gorgeous coats found on goldens. However, those are NOT AKC recognized colors for the breed.
All Golden Retrievers are only considered to be one of three versions of GOLD according to AKC:
▪️Light Gold
▪️Gold
▪️Dark Gold
There are a lot of variations within those three accepted colors, so it’s easy to see how people come up with different descriptions to portray that. I see a red puppy, but according to AKC he’s dark gold. Goldens come in the most spectacular assortment of colors!
